About Onam

The harvest festival of Kerala, celebrating prosperity, unity, and the legendary return of King Mahabali

Pookalam - Traditional Onam Flower Rangoli

Onam is the most important festival in Kerala, marking the homecoming of the legendary King Mahabali. According to mythology, the generous Asura King returns from the netherworld to visit his beloved subjects once a year.

The festival spans ten days, filled with vibrant celebrations including the famous Onasadya feast, traditional games, music, and the magnificent Pookalam flower arrangements that adorn every household.
